【World Express】Mitsubishi Electric Disclosed Gallium Oxide Related Development Research

日期:2025-03-20阅读:17

Mitsubishi Electric recently held a "Clean Environment Research and Development Case Study Meeting" at the Advanced Technology Research Institute, where it demonstrated a demonstration machine that can perform electrostatic screening without operating knowledge.

Summary of the Advanced Technology Research Institute

The Advanced Technology Research Institute is part of Mitsubishi Electric's Development Headquarters and has various technologies related to systems/solutions, equipment, and equipment/materials. By combining existing technologies with new ones, the institute is promoting the development of "promising technologies" that will have a huge impact on society and businesses. The institute is committed to conducting research under three main themes, including coping with the ever-expanding demand for energy while reducing environmental load and achieving a sustainable society that coexists with nature. Namely, "Green by Electronics", "Green by Digital" and "Green by Circular".

In the future, Mitsubishi Electric plans to expand into the fields of motor vehicles, renewable energy, and people's livelihood, and promote the low-cost, low-resistance, and high withstand voltage of SiC. In addition, it will also focus on the research of a new generation of wide band gap semiconductor material Gallium Oxide (Ga2O3), which is expected to produce products with higher voltage, lower loss and lower cost compared with SiC.

The development of Gallium Oxide material technology was adopted in June 2024 by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) "Important Technology Training Project for Economic Security/High Power and High Efficiency Power Equipment/High Frequency Equipment Material Technology Development". The project will be carried out with the support of NEDO.
