Looking back on 2024, the wide band gap semiconductor industry has made remarkable progress on a path where challenges and opportunities coexist. In industries such as new energy vehicles, photovoltaic storage and charging, industrial control, and high-power power supplies, people's acceptance of wide band gap semiconductor devices has significantly increased. From a cost perspective, with the continuous maturation of technology and large-scale production, the cost of devices has continued to decline, making their cost-effectiveness more prominent in many application scenarios; In terms of efficiency improvement, wide band gap semiconductor devices, with their characteristics of high power, high voltage resistance, and high temperature resistance, have brought a performance leap to terminal products, significantly enhancing their market competitiveness and winning wide recognition in the market.
Meanwhile, domestic enterprises have been actively laying out and continuously innovating in the entire industrial chain, including raw materials, substrates, epitaxy, manufacturing, and device design, forming a relatively complete industrial ecosystem. However, due to external factors such as the slowdown of the global economy and the intensification of trade frictions, market demand in key downstream areas has been suppressed, competition within the industry has become increasingly fierce, product prices have been continuously falling, the profit margins of enterprises have been severely squeezed, and the development of the industry is facing many challenges.
Against this backdrop, to promote the sustainable development of the wide band gap semiconductor industry, break through the bottlenecks in industrial development, and explore new development opportunities, the Innovation Alliance of Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Technology plans to hold the "2025 Wide Band Gap Semiconductor Technology and Application Development Summit Forum" in Wuhu City, Anhui Province from July 15th to 17th. The forum, with the theme of "Breaking Through 2025 and Unlocking New Markets", will focus on the research and development and innovation of key technologies in the industry and explore potential market demands.
The forum will bring together industry elites, well-known enterprises and top experts and scholars from home and abroad in the upstream, midstream and downstream of the wide band gap semiconductor industry chain, including consumables, equipment, materials, epitaxes, devices and applications, to deeply discuss new paths for the coordinated development of the wide band gap semiconductor industry chain, new breakthroughs in key technologies and new potential in application markets.
