Founded in 2003, the College of Microelectronics of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology is one of the earliest institutions in China to carry out the training and scientific research of microelectronics professionals. It is also one of the first batch of demonstration microelectronics institute construction units (9) and the first batch of integrated circuit talent training bases (9).
The college, formerly known as the Institute of Microelectronics, started undergraduate enrollment in 1959. In 1970, it completed its own integrated circuit production line, and obtained the authority to grant master's and doctor's degrees in 1986 and 1996. In May 2015, it was the first batch to be approved to build a national demonstration microelectronics college. At present, there are two first-level disciplines of "Electronic Science and Technology" and "Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering", which have made fruitful achievements in talent training and scientific research innovation in the fields of research and development of compound semiconductor materials and device , integrated circuit design of analog and mixed signal, and integrated circuit computer-aided design, etc.
【Teaching Team】
The college has built a high-level teaching team with the academician Hao Yue as the representative, young and middle-aged high-level experts as the backbone, all of whom have profound family and country feelings. The college has 170 teachers, including 58 with senior professional titles and 72 with deputy senior professional titles. There are more than 30 high-level talents, some of whom are academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, some are the CAE Members, and some are foreign academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Among them, there are innovation groups of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, "National College Huang Danian style Teacher Team", National Teaching and Education Models, and National Model Teachers.
【Development of the platform】
The college has built the only national engineering research center in the third generation semiconductor field, the only national integrated circuit integration innovation platform combining production with education in northwest China and other national platforms. Shaanxi Key Laboratory, Shaanxi Engineering Technology Research Center and Shaanxi 2011 Collaborative Innovation Center have been established. The college innovated the "Trinity" Compound Talent Training Mode in the field of integrated circuits and won the first prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award (2018). It strongly supported Electronic Science and Technology to be awarded "A+" in the fourth round of discipline evaluation.
【Teaching and Education】
The college now has doctoral and master degree authorization in the first level disciplines of "Electronic Science and Technology" and "Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering". It also has doctoral and master degree authorization in the "Electronic Information" discipline, and two undergraduate majors. The first-level discipline of "Electronic Science and Technology" has a post doctoral mobile station. Two undergraduate majors, "Microelectronics Science and Engineering" and "Integrated Circuit Design and Integrated System", were selected as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, both of which are characteristic majors of national quality engineering construction and Shaanxi famous brand majors.
【Personnel Training】
The college teaches students in accordance with their aptitude, and sets up Teaching Reform Classes and Excellence Classes to cultivate top-notch innovative talents. On average, about 500 undergraduates and 700 postgraduates are recruited each year. It is one of the largest institutions in China to cultivate talents in the field of integrated circuits. At the same time, it is also one of the colleges with the highest level of personnel training in the field of integrated circuits in domestic universities.
【Scientific Research】
Adhering to being led by the national demand and focusing on solving the "bottleneck" problems in the industry, the college has made a series of major research achievements with independent intellectual property rights in gallium nitride materials and devices, high-performance analog integrated circuits, system chips and integrated systems, silicon carbide high-temperature semiconductor materials and devices. The college has won seven National Science and Technology Progress Awards and National Technology Invention Awards, ranking first among the national microelectronics colleges.
