Qingdao Accelerates “10+1” Industrial System Development, Boosting Growth of Gallium Oxide and Other Advanced Semiconductor Materials
In an era of unprecedentedly intense and vigorous technological innovation, Qingdao is committed to taking technological innovation as the lead and accelerating the construction of the "10+1" innovative industrial system.
Focusing on the "10+1" key industrial directions of prioritizing the development of 2 leading industries, driving breakthroughs of 5 emerging industries, upgrading of 3 advantageous industries, and advancing a batch of future industries, Qingdao is striving to " secure a strategic position" in new industrial tracks, gather new industrial clusters, create new growth drivers, and continuously accumulate the future competitiveness of the city's industries.
In the field of advanced semiconductor materials, Qingdao is prioritizing the development of compound semiconductors represented by indium phosphide and Gallium Oxide, and has been continuously making efforts in key core technologies such as wafer substrate manufacturing. Among them, the Huaxin Jingyuan Semiconductor Compound Wafer Substrate project has been initiated, to promote the large-scale production of the next generation of high-performance chip substrates based on materials such as Silicon Carbide, Gallium Nitride, and Gallium Oxide.
Gallium Oxide Technology Stands Out, Fuzhou Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Sparks Scientific and Technological Vitality
Fuzhou’s sci-tech innovation has a nine-year journey. The 2025 Fuzhou Innovation Carnival and the 9th Fuzhou Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, jointly organized by the Fuzhou Science and Technology Bureau and the Fuzhou Municipal Talent Office, concluded successfully on July 24. The competition continues to foster new quality productivity and inject strong momentum into Fuzhou's drive to build a modern international city at an accelerated pace.
Since the first event was held in 2017, the track has gradually expanded from early electronic information, Internet and other fields to new generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, new energy, biomedicine and other fields, forming a diversified and flourishing innovation landscape. "Over the past nine years, the quality of the competition has improved year by year, with stronger technological innovation and broader application scenarios, fully reflecting the vigorous vitality of Fuzhou's innovation ecosystem." A relevant official from the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau said.
In the new generation of information technology, Quanjia Technology has distinguished itself with its Gallium Oxide epitaxial wafer technology. The project focuses on supplying high-performance foundational materials for downstream industries such as new energy vehicles and photovoltaic power generation, significantly promoting cost reduction and efficiency gains in the industrial chain. The breakthrough in Gallium Oxide technology not only enhanced Fuzhou's influence in the semiconductor field, but also demonstrated the proactive efforts and forward-looking vision of local science and technology innovation enterprises in the layout of national strategic emerging industries.
