According to the Qingdao Daily, the third generation semiconductor compound wafer substrate project of Qingdao Huaxin Wafer started in February this year. The No. 6 plant, on the east side of Qingdao Huaxin Wafer Third Generation Semiconductor Compound Wafer Substrate Project, has been capped, and the project has entered the comprehensive construction stage.
As we have learned, the total investment of the project is 700 million yuan. It uses silicon carbide, gallium nitride, gallium oxide and other third-generation semiconductor compound materials to process and produce related chip substrate products, which are widely used in photoelectronic devices and communication microwave radio frequency devices (4G, 5G communication base stations), with an annual output value of 500 million yuan.

The Evaluation and Acceptance Meeting for Project and Plans, aiming to improve the scientific and technological innovation capacity, was concluded on December 2, which was held by Xuzhou Association for Science and Technology. Through the procedures of application, project initiation consultation, third-party evaluation and acceptance, and approval by the Party Leadership Group of the Municipal Association for Science and Technology, a total of 6 first-rate societies and 11 innovative characteristic societies were selected, and 34 special programs for improving the capacity of societies were accepted. Among them, gallium oxide accounts for one of nine science and technology think tank projects.
