【Member News】Shenzhen Pinghu Laboratory Showcases Recent Scientific Achievements at SEMI-e

      From September 10th to 12th, Shenzhen International Semiconductor & IC Exhibition (SEMI-e 2025) officially kicked off at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center. This exhibition focuses on the three core themes of "IC Design and Application", "IC Manufacturing and Supply Chain" and "Compound Semiconductor", covering the entire integrated circuit industry chain in an all-round way. Shenzhen Pinghu Laboratory showcased its recent scientific achievements at the exhibition, with several experts and scholars invited as speakers in the sub-forums. The participation fully demonstrated the Laboratory’s strengths as a public, open, and shared platform, injecting fresh “core” momentum into the development of the industry.

      The exhibition featured a vibrant atmosphere of exchange, with cutting-edge industry frontiers and innovative achievements showcased. Among them, the booth of Shenzhen Pinghu Laboratory attracted some leading enterprises and high-quality customers in the industry to stop and carry out in-depth exchanges on technology application and industrial cooperation. Especially in the field of analysis and testing, through on-site negotiations and technical exchanges, many enterprises have expressed their intention to cooperate, which not only builds an efficient docking channel for end-to-end all-round and full-process analysis and testing cooperation, but also lays the foundation for the coordinated development of the subsequent industry.

      This year's Shenzhen International Semiconductor & IC Exhibition (SEMI-e 2025) will be held at the same time as the China International Optoelectronic Expo, and the two exhibitions will deeply integrate the "semiconductor + optoelectronics" industry to expand synergies, and more than 20 concurrent conferences will be held, focusing on chips and chip design, third-generation semiconductors/power semiconductors, semiconductor manufacturing, and advanced packaging to discuss the innovation and development of the integrated circuit industry.

Dr. Zuo Zheng

      At the Power Semiconductor Device Technology and Application Innovation and Development Forum, Dr. Zuo Zheng, assistant director of Shenzhen Pinghu Laboratory, gave a report on "Development, Challenges and Innovation of Power Semiconductors". Dr. Zuo reviewed the development trajectory of power semiconductors, highlighted the key challenges currently faced by the industry, and concluded by introducing the evolution and technical service capabilities of Shenzhen Pinghu Laboratory to the attendees.

Dr. Li Qizhi

      At the Semiconductor Analysis and Testing Application and Equipment Linkage Development Forum, Dr. Li Qizhi, an assistant researcher in materials analysis at Shenzhen Pinghu Laboratory, gave a report titled "Research on GaN Material Analysis Technology Based on Quaternary Pole Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer". The report focuses on the actual testing needs in the semiconductor process, and conducts targeted research based on quadrupole SIMS, including reducing the detection limit of C in GaN, using cesium (Cs) negative ion mode to achieve accurate measurement of aluminum (Al) components, and solving quantitative analysis problems in samples with patterned structures. The research results shared by him can provide important technical support and data feedback for the optimization and iteration of GaN epitaxial processes.

      This SEMI-e provided Shenzhen Pinghu Laboratory with a platform to showcase its strengths and technologies, while also enabling more industry professionals to better understand the market applications and development prospects of power semiconductors. As an open, public, and shared platform dedicated to SiC, GaN, and next-generation advanced power semiconductors, the laboratory will continue to make greater contributions to promoting the high-quality development of the semiconductor industry.
