【Epitaxy Papers】Ultrawide Bandgap Corundum-Structured Iridium Gallium Oxide via Pulsed Laser Deposition

        Researchers from the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology have published a dissertation titled "Ultrawide Bandgap Corundum-Structured Iridium Gallium Oxide via Pulsed Laser Deposition" in 2025 IEEE Photonics Conference (IPC).

Abstract

        We synthesized crystalline corundum iridium gallium oxide via sequential binary oxide pulsed laser deposition using corundum gallium oxide as a buffer layer. Optical and electrical characterization revealed ultrawide bandgap and p-type conduction. The presented growth method enables the development of bipolar ultrawide bandgap optoelectronic devices.
