      Novel Crystal Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sayama City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan; President & CEO: Akito Kuramata) has completed a new round of financing with the following funds participating as investors.

      Both funds are regionally based investment funds established and operated with the aim of fostering new industries and innovation within Saitama Prefecture, revitalizing the regional economy, and contributing to the sustainable development of local industries.
As a materials-focused startup headquartered in Saitama Prefecture, the Company will further accelerate its research and commercialization efforts. Through initiatives such as local talent recruitment, capital investment in facilities, and strengthened regional collaboration, Novel Crystal Technology aims to contribute to the revitalization and sustainable growth of the regional economy.

 

Background of the Financing and Future Outlook
      Leveraging the capital obtained through this financing and the partnerships formed with the investors, the Company will further accelerate the commercialization of β-Ga₂O₃.

      Specifically, the funds will be allocated to enhancing crystal growth and wafer manufacturing technologies in order to achieve higher quality, lower costs, and stable supply, as well as to accelerate product development. In addition, with its Saitama-based facilities as a core, the Company will deepen collaboration among industry, academia, government, and financial institutions, striving for regionally rooted, sustainable growth and value creation.

      Novel Crystal Technology Co., Ltd. is engaged in the development, manufacturing, and sales of β-phase gallium oxide (β-Ga₂O₃) single-crystal substrates and epitaxial wafers for next-generation power devices, as well as the development of power devices.

      In recent years, silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) have attracted significant attention as new semiconductor materials that surpass the performance limits of silicon (Si). β-Ga₂O₃ exhibits superior material properties that significantly exceed those of these materials and enables the low-cost production of high-quality single-crystal substrates through melt-growth techniques.
