From June 16 to 17, 2026, the 2026 first-half China Semiconductor Materials Industry Group Standards Working Conference was successfully held in Tianjin. The conference was organized by the China Electronic Materials Industry Association and jointly hosted by the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation 46th Research Institute Zhongshibo Laboratory, the National Quality Inspection and Testing Center for Electronic Functional and Auxiliary Materials, and the Information Industry Specialized Materials Quality Supervision and Inspection Center.
The meeting focused on a systematic review and advancement of the group standards system for key semiconductor materials. During the conference, the Asia Gallium Oxide Alliance (hereinafter referred to as “the Alliance”) actively participated, and multiple standard projects related to gallium oxide led by its member companies and partners achieved phased progress.
Member-led standards advance in coordination
Standard system development becomes industry consensus
During the meeting, multiple member organizations of the Alliance attended and actively participated in the review process, engaging in in-depth discussions on draft clauses, technical specifications, and application scopes of various standards. The broad participation of member organizations not only reflects the high level of attention paid to standardization, but also indicates that the development of a standardized system has become an industry consensus and a key milestone in the industrialization of gallium oxide.

·Through joint efforts, multiple group standards related to gallium oxide materials and other semiconductor materials achieved significant progress, covering key links such as crystal growth environment materials, crystal defect inspection methods, and structural characterization techniques:
·The standard “Non-destructive X-ray Topography (XRT) Detection of Defects in Gallium Oxide Materials” proposed by China Resources Microelectronics Limited (council member of the Alliance) successfully passed review and approval;
·The project “Zirconia Fiber Insulation Products for Gallium Oxide Crystal Growth” led by Hangzhou Garen Semiconductor (council member of the Alliance) was successfully approved for establishment;
·The project “X-ray Diffraction Method for Twin Content Detection in Gallium Oxide Materials” led by Shenzhen Pinghu Laboratory (member organization of the Alliance) was successfully approved for establishment;
The project “Alumina Foam Ceramic Products for Sapphire Crystal Annealing Furnaces and Advanced Ceramic Sintering Applications” led by Shandong Extreme Temperature New Material (member organization of the Alliance) was successfully approved for establishment.

The Alliance as a bridging platform
Comprehensive support for member needs and system-level services
As a core organization promoting high-quality development of the gallium oxide semiconductor industry and enabling upstream–downstream coordination, the Asia Gallium Oxide Alliance consistently focuses on key industry bottlenecks and technological challenges. The Alliance is committed to building a complete standardized system covering the entire value chain, including crystal growth, wafer processing, epitaxial growth, performance testing, and application integration—using standards to drive technological iteration, regulate industry order, and enhance core competitiveness.
As member demand for standardization continues to increase, the Alliance maintains close collaboration with the China Electronic Materials Industry Association and actively participates in the construction of the gallium oxide materials standards system and industrial ecosystem.
To address practical challenges and service needs in standard proposal submission, drafting, and technical review, the Alliance provides precise, end-to-end support, including:
·Full-process conference coordination: Supporting all stages of group standard work, including project review, draft evaluation, and final approval meetings;
·Document consolidation and management: Organizing and coordinating all necessary submission and review materials;
·Lowering participation barriers: Assisting companies and institutions in structuring and refining required documentation for standard proposal and drafting, reducing entry barriers and ensuring smooth progression of standardization work;
·Post-submission coordination support: For ongoing gallium oxide standard projects, the Alliance facilitates coordination for new participants interested in joint drafting.
Outlook
Standards as the foundation for an integrated industrial ecosystem
Group standards serve not only as technical specifications but also as a foundational pillar for industrial collaboration. In the next phase, the Alliance will continue working closely with the China Electronic Materials Industry Association, member organizations, and research institutions to advance the drafting, public consultation, and implementation of standards approved in this meeting.
Meanwhile, the Alliance will continue leveraging its platform advantages to address practical bottlenecks across the gallium oxide value chain, coordinating upstream and downstream stakeholders to steadily advance standardization in critical areas. Through continuous technical exchange and practical service support, the Alliance aims to work with industry partners to jointly build a more standardized, efficient, and collaborative gallium oxide materials ecosystem.
