On July 28, the “Vibrant China Research Tour” media delegation visited the Hangzhou Institute of Optical Precision Machinery and conducted an on-site visit to its incubated flagship enterprise — Hangzhou Fujia Gallium Technology Co., Ltd. Organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the event brought together more than 50 journalists from major national media outlets, including People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China Media Group, and Science and Technology Daily, focusing on Zhejiang’s vivid practices in deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation.

Chairman Qi Hongji of Fujia Gallium hosted the delegation throughout the visit. He provided a comprehensive introduction to the strategic importance of gallium oxide, the company’s journey from laboratory research to industrialization, its key technological achievements and breakthroughs in commercialization, as well as its future development plans. He also showcased Fujia Gallium’s representative products and production facilities to the research delegation.

Chairman Qi Hongji of Fujia Gallium Hosts the Visiting Delegation

Fujia Gallium was established in late 2019, focusing on the research, development, and commercialization of gallium oxide single-crystal materials for fourth-generation semiconductors. As an ultra-wide-bandgap semiconductor material, gallium oxide holds significant strategic value in fields such as energy, information technology, and national defense, and has been explicitly included as a key development direction in China’s 15th Five-Year Plan Outline.

As a leading enterprise in the gallium oxide industry, Fujia Gallium has remained committed to independent innovation and achieved a series of breakthroughs in gallium oxide crystal growth and epitaxial technologies, marking China’s historic transition in this field from a follower to a parallel competitor at the global forefront. In March 2026, the company became the first in the world to successfully prepare 12-inch gallium oxide single crystals, setting a new global record for gallium oxide crystal size. Recently, the company further expanded its epitaxial film capability to the 12-inch scale.

Currently, Fujia Gallium has established China’s first high-quality gallium oxide substrate production line with a capacity of tens of thousands of wafers. As an initiator of national standard development in the gallium oxide field, the company is also leading the drafting of two national standards.

The concentrated visit by the central media delegation represents strong recognition of Fujia Gallium’s innovative achievements and industrialization progress in the gallium oxide field, while injecting greater confidence into the high-quality development of China’s fourth-generation semiconductor materials industry.
