      Recently, the first Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and Qinchuangyuan Postdoctoral Innovation Achievement Transfer and Transformation High-end Forum in Shaanxi Provincial were successfully held in the General Window of Qinchuangyuan in Xi Xian New Area.

      The project of "Mass Preparation and Industrialization of High Quality Wafer Grade Ferroelectric/Piezoelectric Thin Films" by Dong Guangzhi team from our university won the Gold Award in the New Materials Group of the Innovation Competition, ranking the first place; The  project of "Broadband Gap Semiconductor Material Microjet Cutting Technology" by Hu Yanfei's team is the only gold medal winner in the entrepreneurship competition in the province; The project of "Research and Industrialization of Key Technologies for Wide and Ultra Wide Band Gap Semiconductor Diamond Materials and Devices" by Ren Zeyang's team won the Bronze Award in the New Generation Information Technology Group of the Innovation Competition.

The Title of the Project: Microjet cutting technology of broadband gap semiconductor materials

      Microjet laser technology is an advanced technology for fine water jet-guided laser to realize material processing. In this technology, the laser beam is coupled into a high-speed water jet. The laser beam focused to the nozzle position forms the total reflection in the inner wall of the fine water column and generates an energy beam with uniform distribution of section energy and is guided to the surface of the workpiece for processing. On the one hand, this technology can overcome the mixed mode of brittle fracture and plastic removal of the existing technology in processing hard brittle materials, save cost and improve processing efficiency; on the other hand, it can overcome the thermal phase change and grinding secondary damage of the consolidated diamond line, and improve the processing yield of hard brittle materials. This technology is an industry-leading solution in aero-engine thermal end parts manufacturing, aircraft CFRP structural parts processing, hard and brittle composite material processing, wide-band semiconductor material cutting, large-scale integrated circuit chip cutting and so on.

      The series of products by the team are mainly used in the rolling, slicing and device cutting process of the third generation semiconductor processing. At the same time, the new products also process ultra-wide band forbidden semiconductor materials such as gallium oxide, diamond. The processing effect has been recognized by the users, and the related products have been delivered to the application party. In addition, the team processing materials, including composite materials used in the aerospace field, and new materials with expensive, hard and brittle properties, have been processed in multiple batches of products for local users in Xi'an.

 

In 2022, Gallium Oxide Gained New Business Opportunities in the Investment Community

      In March 2022, China issued the Notice on the Requirements for the List of Integrated Circuit Enterprises or Projects and Software Enterprises That will Enjoy Preferential Tax Policies in 2022, creating a high-quality environment for the development of the semiconductor materials industry. Due to multiple factors, the semiconductor materials industry achieved rapid growth in 2022, with an influx of a large number of capital entrepreneurs.

      Among them, gallium oxide and other fourth-generation semiconductor materials developers "GAREN Semiconductor" completed two rounds of financing in less than three months, introducing Yuquan Private Equity Fund Management, Bluerun Ventures and other well-known investment institutions.

      The trend of domestic semiconductor material enterprises in producing and selling themselves in some fields is becoming more obvious, and there is a broad space for replacing domestic products in various major segments. In the future, China's semiconductor material industry will usher in a once-in-a-century window period.

 

The First Technical College Postdoctoral Workstation in Zhejiang province was Established in Xiaoshan District

      Recently, Hangzhou Xiaoshan Technician College Postdoctoral Workstation opening ceremony and opening review was held. Wu Qinfang, secretary of the Party Committee and director of Xiaoshan District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Xu Hongping, president of Hangzhou Xiaoshan Technician College, jointly unveiled the workstation. It is reported that Hangzhou Xiaoshan Technician College Postdoctoral Workstation is the province's first, the second national technical colleges postdoctoral workstation. Dr. Zheng Zhen and Dr. Liu Zeng respectively made subject-selecting reports on two topics: "Research on the Mechanism of Crop Production and Quality Improvement of Underground Drip Irrigation Crop Facilities with Integrated Water, fertilizer and Gas" and "Research on the Solar Blind Detection of Gallium Oxide". After defense demonstration and full discussion and deliberation by the experts, the two doctors successfully made the proposal.

      At the end of 2020, Li Peigang, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Physics, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, received an invitation from a science and technology business incubator, hoping that he can jointly carry out technology incubation and cultivate an application-oriented gallium oxide material enterprise, based on his research and accumulation in gallium oxide materials. This incubator is the Amy Space New Materials Incubator.

      "Having an insight into trends of technology development, as well as tracking research progress and connecting with scientists is an access to finding the latest technology. After a comprehensive analysis, we believe that gallium oxide materials will present huge advantages in terms of material performance, cost and market space. In the research of gallium oxide single crystal and its device applications, Japan is in the forefront of the world, but it has not yet entered the large-scale application stage." Zhang Pinshu said, who is CEO of Amy Space.

      After in-depth investigation of development trends of technology and future industrial application possibilities, Amy Space chose to cooperate with Li Peigang to provide a seed-stage investment of 2 million yuan to his technical team, and jointly established Beijing Gachuang Technology Co., Ltd. to carry out industrial research and development of ultra-wide band gap semiconductor gallium oxide materials and devices.
