According to the analysis of the valid patents of gallium oxide power semiconductor components held by AnA Patent in six major PCT countries including Korea, China, the United States, Europe, Japan, as of September 2021, there were 1,011 patents, of which 328 were owned in China and 313 were owned by Japan, with the number of patents in the two countries accounting for more than 50% of the total. Most of the 460 patents added from September 2021 to November 2022 came from China (240) and Japan (87).
The patent agent from AnA Patent said, " After only one year and two months, the number of patents related to gallium oxide power semiconductor components increased by about 50%, and the patent trend around the world is very active. While practical technical capabilities cannot be discussed based on patents alone, it is worth noting that China and Japan have applied for a large number of patents.”

He won the second prize of Beijing Natural Science Award (2020, ranked second), the Science and Technology Award of China Federation of Commerce- -the first prize of National Commercial Technology Progress Award (2022, ranked first), and the Excellence Award of China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Achievements (2022, ranked first).
Since 2013 he has been engaged in ultra wide band gap semiconductor gallium oxide materials and devices, obtained a number of important breakthroughs and progress the material growth, crystal / physical regulation, table interface / belt engineering, gold half contact, solar blind photoelectric and information memory device structure design and construction, formed a distinctive independent innovation system in the research field. As the first / corresponding author, he has published more than 60 gallium oxide related SCI papers in Phys. Rev. Appl., Appl. Phys. Ltd., ACS Nano and other international renowned journals [10 ESI highly cited papers and 2 ESI hot papers], and was invited to write 3 reviews related to gallium oxide. His papers have been positively cited and evaluated for more than 5,500 times by famous scholars or authoritative institutions at home and abroad, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the Gallium oxide International Symposium, and the United States Air Force Research Laboratory. There are 12 papers cited for more than 100 times, and the personal H factor is 41. He serves as a reviewer for over 20 journals including Nat. Electron., Adv. Mater.
At present, he is presiding over or completing 13 general projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province, and State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. He has applied for 52 patents related to gallium oxide, 30 of which have been authorized, and he has been actively promoting the industrialization of gallium oxide materials and devices.
Notice of Collecting Soliciting Advice on Special Guidelines of Zhuhai for Tackling Key Core Technologies in the Integrated Circuit Industry of 2023
To implement the decisions made at the 20th National Congress of the CPC and the requirements of tackling key core technologies in the integrated circuit industry put forward by President Xi Jinping at his speeches, as well as Advice on Supporting the Integrated Circuit Industry of Zhuhai and Policies and Measures of Promoting the Integrated Circuit Industry in Zhuhai, the city shall focus on the strategic needs of integrated circuit enterprises and support the industrial chain of integrated circuit. According to the city’s schedule for the work on technological innovation, we hereby solicit the advice of all units in the integrated circuit industry on the Special Guidelines of Zhuhai for Tackling Key Core Technologies in the Integrated Circuit Industry of 2023. The notice is detailed as follows:
I Key Tasks
(1) Integrated circuit design: critical communication chips for consumption, industrial, automotive and military uses, general digital/analog chips (memory, high-performance processor, D/A converter), high-performance integrated circuits for specific uses, FPGA, etc.
(2) Manufacturing process and key components: semiconductor substrates and epitaxial wafers (8/12 inch high-quality silicon substrates, gallium nitride/aluminum nitride, silicon carbide, gallium arsenide/indium phosphide/gallium antimonide, gallium oxide, diamond, etc.), processes and devices (FinFET, FDSOI, GAA, IGBT, MEMS, key technologies of post-Moore processes and devices, new optoelectronic devices, sensors, gallium nitride or gallium arsenide high frequency devices (microwave, millimeter wave, terahertz), gallium nitride or silicon carbide power electronic device, etc.
(3) EDA: EDA tool, autonomous controllable IP core
(4) Materials: key manufacturing process materials (electronic chemicals, electronic special gas), packaging materials (sintered silver, packaging substrate, ceramic or metal or plastic packaging shell), etc.
(5) Equipment: material preparation equipment, process equipment, packaging equipment and test equipment.
II Requirements
(1) Each unit can put forward one or two pieces of advice on the guidelines, which shall be regarded as the main references for preparing the Special Guidelines of Zhuhai for Tackling Key Core Technologies in the Integrated Circuit Industry of 2023.
(2) The unit should be an independent legal person enterprise or R&D institute in the city, with a competent R&D team or influential talents in the industry and being capable of conducting project production, R&D and management according to proposed requirements.
(3) The projects can be conducted in various forms. They can be executed by the unit independently, or jointly with the government by means of open tendering.
