【Member News】Xu Wenhui from Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology won the award of the New Generation Information Technology Group in the Innovation Competition of the second National Post-doctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

      Xu Wenhui, a postdoctoral fellow and assistant researcher at the Shanghai Institute of Microsystems and Information Technology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, won the New Generation Information Technology Track Award in the Innovation category of the second National Post-Doctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

      According to reports, the competition with the theme of "Intelligent Enabling Development and Innovation Leading the Future", the competition set up four groups, including innovation competition, entrepreneurship competition, overseas competition and opening title race, new generation of information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy and new materials, biomedicine and health, modern agriculture and food, Marine development and application, other industries of seven tracks. It is the largest, highest level and broadest coverage of the post-doctoral competition in China. After the pre-selection and recommendation and the national rematch, a total of 43 teams from across the country participated in nearly 1,500 team events during the finals, attracting a total of 26,800 people.

      This competition project is a wafer-level Gallium Oxide heterogeneous integrated material based on intelligent stripping technology. Gallium Oxide ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors are strategic electronic materials for ultra-high voltage and ultra-high power applications. In view of the bottleneck of the extremely low thermal conductivity of Gallium Oxide, the project team took the lead in the world to successfully integrate 2 and 4 inch Gallium Oxide single crystal film with silicon and silicon carbide substrate by intelligent stripping heterogeneous integration technology, providing innovative solutions for the thermal management of Gallium Oxide power chips, and providing high-quality substrate materials with high thermal conductivity for basic research and engineering applications of Gallium Oxide in China in the future. Then promote the market application of Gallium Oxide semiconductor. Focusing on the core technology, the team has published 22 papers in top conferences and journals such as IEDM and Fundamental Research, applied for 20 invention patents, and authorized 11 patents, including 4 patents in the United States and Japan.

      Under the guidance of her co-supervisor Ou Xin, Dr. Xu Wenhui has been selected as the 2023 National "Bo Xin Program", Shanghai Young Scientific and Technological Talents Sailing Program, Shanghai "Super Postdoctoral" incentive Program, Chinese Academy of Sciences Special Research Assistant Project, During his doctoral study, he was awarded the Outstanding doctoral Thesis of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Integrated Circuit Scholarship of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, and the Nomination Award of China's Top Ten Progress in Semiconductor Research.
