【Alliance News】Gallium Oxide in the Spotlight: Exploring JFSC&CSE with Alliance

      The 2025 Jiufengshan Conference (JFSC) and Compound Semiconductor Industry Expo (CSE) opened grandly at the Optics Valley Science and Technology Convention Center on April 23. Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, industry leaders, business representatives, and professional visitors gathered in Jiangcheng for the annual appointment. The bustling scene with over 20,000 square meters of exhibition space and nearly 300 exhibitors demonstrates that the future of compound semiconductors is writing the most passionate footnote in China. The Jiufengshan Conference consists of 1 opening ceremony, 1 science & technology & culture & art forum, 11 parallel technical discussion forums, 8 new product release side events, 12 partner concurrent events, 4 supply and demand exchange meetings of the industrial chain, and more than 200 keynote speeches and reports. A total of 260 exhibitors participated in the Compound Semiconductor Industry Expo in a 20,000-square-meter exhibition area, with over 20,000 visitors on site.

 

#1 Alliance Activities

      The alliance was invited to exhibit at booth B214 on the second floor. The main purpose of this exhibition is to serve member units, enhance the reputation of the alliance, and attract potential members to join the alliance. During the conference, the secretary-general of the alliance received over 70 waves of visitors at the booth, introduced and promoted the alliance to everyone, and elaborated in detail on the development history of Gallium Oxide materials and the growth process of the alliance. More than 20 effective potential units were developed and the number of followers on the official account increased by more than 100. During the three-day exhibition, the alliance interviewed a total of 14 member units. Through in-depth exchanges with the enterprise representatives, the alliance not only learned about the latest products and technological trends of the member enterprises, but also clarified the suggestions and demands of the member units regarding the current service content of the alliance. At the same time, the work of the alliance was highly recognized and unanimously praised by the member units. This has injected strong impetus for us to keep moving forward.

      Suzhou GAO Semiconductor Co., Ltd is a high-tech enterprise focusing on the research and development of Gallium Oxide materials, and has always taken leading the technological innovation and application of Gallium Oxide as its mission.

      During this communication with Mr. Han Lei, the general manager of GAO Semiconductor, we learned that currently, GAO has the supply capacity for 2-inch Gallium Oxide single crystal substrates and Gallium Oxide epitaxial wafers. It also has the sales capacity for Gallium Oxide related crystal growth equipment and Gallium Oxide solar blind detectors. General Manager Han has high hopes for the future of Gallium Oxide materials. Moreover, it can be seen that more and more players are joining the research and industrialization promotion of this material, which is good news for the industry.

      Hangzhou GAREN Semiconductor released the world's first 8-inch Gallium Oxide single crystal on March 5, 2025. GAREN SEMI is a technology enterprise focusing on the research and development, production and sales of wide band gap semiconductor materials such as Gallium Oxide.

      The alliance was fortunate enough to have an in-depth exchange with Jiang Jiwei, the sales director of GAREN SEMI. Mr. Jiang informed us that this year we will intensify the promotion of Gallium Oxide crystal growth VB method crystal growth equipment (including process packages) and processing equipment. In addition, Gallium Oxide Semiconductor has established a postdoctoral workstation and is now sincerely inviting Gallium Oxide talents from all over the world to join Gallium Oxide to receive relevant subsidies and contribute together to the research and industrialization of Gallium Oxide materials.

With the vision of "making the world use good materials", the company carries out the industrialization work of wide band gap semiconductor Gallium Oxide materials.

      The alliance inquired with Mr. Bao Senchuan, the general manager of Fujia Gallium Industry, about the company's industrialization layout direction. Mr. Bao introduced that the company, from single crystal substrates to epitaxial wafers, hopes to complete the entire product industrial chain, bring Gallium Oxide products to application scenarios, and achieve true industrialization.

# 3 Special Report on Gallium Oxide

      On April 24th, the Wide Band Gap Semiconductor Materials Summit Forum, jointly organized by DT New Materials and the Jiufengshan Conference Organizing Committee, was successfully held in the exhibition area forum of A1.

Xia Changtai, a researcher from the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a wonderful report titled "Why Is It Gallium Oxide?"

Qi Hongji, the director of Hangzhou Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics and the chairman of Hangzhou Fujia Gallium Technology Co., LTD., delivered a wonderful report titled "A Brief Discussion on the Industrialization Path of Gallium Oxide".

 

      On April 25th, among numerous parallel forums, the report on Gallium Oxide was also particularly eye-catching.

Zhang Hui, the chairman of Hangzhou GAREN SEMI Co., Ltd. and Professor of Zhejiang University, delivered an excellent report titled "Progress in Large-Sized High-Quality Gallium Oxide Materials".

Zhou Hong, a leading professor of Huashan Scholar from the School of Microelectronics at Xidian University, delivered a wonderful report titled "Research Progress on Hundred-ampere and Thousand-10,000-volt Gallium Oxide Power Devices".

Zhang Zhaofu, Professor of Wuhan University delivered an excellent report titled "Collaborative Design of Gallium Oxide Crystal Growth for Wide Band Gap Semiconductors".

Peng Ruoshi, an assistant researcher at Jiufengshan Laboratory, delivered a wonderful report titled "Research Progress of JFS Gallium Oxide Power Devices".

 

#4 Summary & Outlook

      Alliance attended the 2025 Jiufengshan Conference (JFSC) and Compound Semiconductor Industry Expo (CSE) as a cooperative media. During the conference, the alliance gained a lot. Alliance had a deeper understanding of the progress of the Gallium Oxide industry and research. And received many valuable suggestions from member units for the alliance's work, which pointed out the direction for the alliance's subsequent work. It is believed that with the joint efforts of everyone and the active participation of insightful individuals, the development and industrialization of Gallium Oxide materials will be further advanced.
