【Alliance News】AGOA Visits CETC 46th Research Institute to Jointly Blueprint a New Future for the Gallium Oxide Industr

      On August 14, 2025, Shen Tao, Chairman of the Asian Gallium Oxide Alliance, and Fei Xuemei, Secretary-General of the Alliance, visited the 46th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC 46^th Research Institute), a member organization of the Alliance. During the visit, they presented the institute with a bronze membership plaque.

      The delegation of the Alliance was warmly received by Director Cheng Hongjuan, Professor Zhang Song, and Professor Zhang Shengnan of the CETC 46th Research Institute. The hosts provided a comprehensive overview of the institute’s current departmental work, guided the delegation through the research laboratories and equipment facilities, and presented the latest progress and future development roadmap of the Gallium Oxide project team. This visit gave the Alliance a deeper understanding of the institute’s important role and strong research capabilities as a leading institution in the field of Gallium Oxide.

      In addition to the visit and exchange, the Alliance delegation introduced to CETC 46th Research Institute the development history, membership benefits, and service offerings of the Alliance. These include sharing the latest industry information, organizing online and offline exchanges, participating in industry standards development, providing access to a talent pool, showcasing member products, facilitating resource connections, and promoting industrial chain collaboration. Through this exchange, both sides reached a positive consensus on cooperation in Gallium Oxide materials. The visit significantly strengthened the Alliance’s confidence in integrating regional resources in Tianjin to jointly advance the development of Gallium Oxide materials, while also laying a solid foundation for delivering more precise and efficient services to its members in the future.

      The Asian Gallium Oxide Alliance will continue to serve as a platform for industry services and resource integration, supporting member units such as CETC 46th Research Institute in expanding the application of innovative achievements and jointly promoting the high-quality development of the Gallium Oxide industry.

About 46th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation

      The Gallium Oxide R&D team of the CETC 46th Research Institute was established in 2016 and currently has over ten members, covering the full technological chain of Gallium Oxide crystal growth, HVPE epitaxy, crystal processing and equipment construction. This team was the first to use the EFG growth method to prepare 4-inch and 6-inch Gallium Oxide single crystal, providing high-quality single crystal products with multiple crystal orientations and electrical properties. Since 2020, the team has expanded into the field of HVPE Gallium Oxide thick film epitaxy, achieving multiple breakthroughs in core technologies. The epitaxial wafer developed have been widely applied in the research and development of Gallium Oxide devices in domestic research institutions.
