To gain an in-depth understanding of the latest developments in industry standardization and better serve its member units, the Alliance attended the 2025 Second-Half China Semiconductor Material Industry Group Standards Work Meeting on November 18, 2025, held at Shanxi Semisic Crystal Co., Ltd. The meeting was organized by the China Electronic Materials Industry Association (CEMIA) and hosted by the Semiconductor Materials Branch of CEMIA and Shanxi Semisic Crystal Co., Ltd. The agenda included the review of group standards such as “β-Gallium Oxide Homoepitaxial Wafers” and “Dislocation Density Measurement Method for Gallium Oxide Single Crystals”, preliminary reviews of standards for “Semi-Insulating Silicon Carbide Wafers for Augmented Reality (AR) Glasses”, and project approval discussions on “Thermal Conductivity Testing Methods for Aluminum Nitride Materials”, laying a solid foundation for the standardized development of related fields.

The review panel consisted of seven authoritative experts: He Dongjiang, Director of the Materials Subcommittee of the National Semiconductor Equipment and Materials Standards Committee; Lin Jian, Secretary-General of the Semiconductor Materials Branch of CEMIA; Li Suqing, Secretary-General of the Materials Subcommittee; Guo Jianyue, former General Manager of Hangzhou Zhongxin Wafers; Ma Chunxi, Standardization Advisor of CEMIA; Zhang Song, Senior Research Engineer at the 46th Research Institute of CETC; and Li Zhiqiang, Associate Professor at North University of China. Their deep professional expertise provided core guidance for the meeting.

Among the standards, “β-Gallium Oxide Homoepitaxial Wafers” and “Dislocation Density Measurement Method for Gallium Oxide Single Crystals” were led by Hangzhou Garen Semiconductor Co., Ltd., a governing member of the Alliance, and are of great significance for promoting the industrialization of Gallium Oxide. Li Cheng, Director of the Epitaxy Department, and Liu Yingying, Quality and Technical Specialist at Garen Semiconductor, presented the core content of the standards and the compilation rationale. During the review, the Garen Semiconductor team, together with the attending experts, went through each proposed modification from previous project approval and preliminary review meetings, continuously verifying and refining the standards to ensure that technical indicators, testing methods, and industry applicability are rigorous and actionable. The review experts examined the draft line by line, providing feedback from the perspectives of technical specification, industry applicability, and practical operability, laying a solid foundation for the construction of the Gallium Oxide standards system.

Through on-site study and detailed records, the Alliance gained a clearer understanding of the technical points, review logic, and quality control mechanisms in standard development, while further appreciating the critical role of standardization in promoting industry collaboration, ensuring product quality, and driving industrial upgrading. In the future, the Alliance will build on this foundation to provide its members with professional standardization consulting and collaborative support, helping enterprises achieve substantial progress in the formulation, application, and implementation of standards in Gallium Oxide and related fields.

This meeting represents an important practice in the deep integration of technological innovation and standardization in the industry, marking a key step forward in the establishment of standards for China’s Gallium Oxide sector. Looking ahead, the release and implementation of Gallium Oxide-related standards will fill gaps in the field and unify technical specifications. The Alliance will continue to advance the construction of a comprehensive Gallium Oxide standards system, using standardization to guide industrial upgrading and help China secure a competitive edge in the global fourth-generation semiconductor materials industry.
