From November 25 to 27, 2025, the 6th Asia-Pacific Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials (APCSCRM 2025), co-hosted by the Innovation Association of Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Technology and the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, grandly opened at the Zhongyuan International Convention and Exhibition Center in Zhengzhou. The conference, themed "Wide Bandgap, Wider Future," focused on innovations across the wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor industry chain, covering materials, equipment, device development, and system applications. It emphasized cutting-edge technologies and the construction of industrial ecosystems for WBG materials including SiC, GaN, Ga₂O₃, AlN, and diamond. Through keynote forums, poster sessions, roundtables, and professional exhibition areas, the event provided a high-level international platform integrating technical discussions, results presentation, and business collaboration.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Chen Xiaolong, researcher at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chief Scientist of Beijing TanKeBlue Semiconductor Co., Ltd. The conference was honored by the presence of multiple distinguished guests, including representatives from government agencies, research institutes, and industry, witnessing this important occasion together.

Focus on Gallium Oxide

At this conference, the Gallium Oxide track drew particular attention. In the keynote sessions, two presentations specifically related to Gallium Oxide set the overall tone:

Qi Hongji, Chairman of Hangzhou Fujia Gallium Technology Co., Ltd., a council member of the Alliance, delivered a talk titled “Bridging the Gap from Gallium Oxide Research to Industrialization: From Existence toPractical Application”, systematically outlining the pathway from Gallium Oxide research to industrial application. Professor Tao Xutang, Chief Advisor of the Alliance Technical Expert Committee, provided a more fundamental perspective with an in-depth analysis of “Ultra-wide bandgap semiconductor gallium oxide and gallium-based spinel crystals.”

The focus on Gallium Oxide was further highlighted in the subsequent ultrawide-bandgap semiconductor forum. Professor Tang Weihua, Chairman of Suzhou GAO Semiconductor Co., Ltd., also a council member of the Alliance, presented “Gallium Oxide-Based Solar-blind Ultraviolet Photonic Devices and Applications”, emphasizing the key directions for industrialization from the application perspective. Daniela Gogova, Chief Researcher at Linköping University, Sweden, showcased an international perspective on Gallium Oxide with her talk “Ultra-wide bandgap gallium oxide for next generation high-power electronics:growth, doping and defects study.”

In addition, Gallium Oxide also featured in the Global Youth Forum on WBG Semiconductor. Among the presentations, Liu Huan from Inner Mongolia University of Technology shared “First-Principles Study on β-GeS2/β-Ga2O3 :Heterojunction”, providing a new perspective on the fundamental theory of Gallium Oxide heterostructures.

The Alliance also carefully reviewed all Gallium Oxide-related presentations at the conference, gaining a deeper understanding of the latest developments in material research, device innovation, and application expansion. Through this process, the Alliance obtained a more systematic grasp of industry frontiers, providing important references for future member services, promoting industrial collaboration, and facilitating technology implementation, while further strengthening its key role in the Gallium Oxide sector.

New Initiatives of the Alliance

As a strategic partner of the Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Technology Innovation Alliance, the Asian Gallium Oxide Alliance actively participated in this conference and gained substantial insights. During the event, the Alliance focused on the core needs of the industry and carried out two key initiatives: first, it conducted in-depth interviews with six out of ten attending member companies to explore their technological highlights and produced a series of promotional videos, comprehensively showcasing the capabilities of member companies and the achievements of the domestic Gallium Oxide industry chain; second, the Alliance held face-to-face exchanges with prominent industry entrepreneurs, who shared their years of experience and cutting-edge insights, aiming to boost confidence in the technological breakthroughs, market prospects, and future development of Gallium Oxide materials.

In addition, the booth’s interactive activity, “Follow for Gifts” attracted hundreds of industry participants on-site, allowing more people to directly experience the potential and value of the Gallium Oxide industry while also enhancing the Alliance’s visibility. From providing precise services to members, to facilitating in-depth dialogues that connect industry expertise, and to engaging interactive promotions, the Asian Gallium Oxide Alliance demonstrated its role as a bridge and link through multi-dimensional initiatives.

During the exhibition, the Alliance conducted its customary visits to member companies and engaged in discussions with booth representatives. In these exchanges, the team focused on each company’s latest developments and explored future strategic layouts in depth. Through face-to-face communication, the Alliance gained a clearer understanding of the actual needs of its members and captured first-hand insights from companies regarding R&D, mass production, and market expansion. This information not only provides guidance for the Alliance’s future work but also lays a foundation for more targeted resource connections and industry support.

In addition to engaging with its members, the Alliance also conducted in-depth learning sessions with the conference organizers to gain insights into the latest industry trends, cutting-edge technologies, and conference management experiences. This not only provides valuable reference for the Alliance’s future event planning and member services but also contributes to strengthening industry collaboration and advancing the Gallium Oxide supply chain. Through such exchanges, the Alliance has further clarified its positioning and mission within the industry, laying a solid foundation for building more high-quality communication platforms, promoting technological innovation, and facilitating industrial implementation.

Finally, as the exhibition concluded successfully, the Alliance reflected deeply on its journey. From its humble beginnings to becoming an influential organization within the industry, the Alliance has earned wide recognition through steadfast efforts. Its growth has been closely observed and affirmed by industry experts, member organizations, and affiliated enterprises and academic institutions. In the process of serving members, promoting Gallium Oxide technology exchange, and facilitating industrial collaboration, the Alliance has continuously accumulated experience and enhanced its capabilities, gradually becoming a key bridge and link within the Gallium Oxide industry chain. Looking ahead, the Alliance will continue to deepen its engagement in the sector, fully leverage its unique strengths, and steadfastly build an industry development service platform that is practical, focused, and committed to excellence.
